This weekend was truly unforgettable! We decided to try a KOA campground in Mount Desert Island, and it was the perfect choice. Every view from our RV was absolutely breathtaking—a constant reminder of nature's unparalleled beauty. The serene landscapes, combined with the peaceful atmosphere of the campground, left us speechless at every turn. It was the kind of experience that doesn’t just relax you—it inspires you. The crisp fall air, vibrant foliage, and abundance of fresh apples made it a beautiful day to remember. 🍁🍂 From exploring the pumpkin patch to picking the juiciest apples straight from the tree, every moment was a joy. What an incredible stay we had in Islesboro! Just a short 3-mile ferry ride transports you to this serene island paradise. Peaceful and quiet with a cozy charm, Islesboro welcomed us with open arms and some of the friendliest residents we’ve ever met. During our trip, we explored nearly 90% of the 14-mile-long island, uncovering its natural beauty and tranquil vibes at every turn. Exploring the Scenic Route Along Maine's northern border 

Our journey began by following the beautiful Saint Croix River, tracing its course between Calais and Eastport. From there, we continued our adventure along the picturesque Route 1, a highway steeped in history where 1,300 ships once carried lumber to and from the region. Along the way, we stopped in Eastport, home to the oldest diner in Maine, a charming spot that carries the echoes of the past. Wrapping up our travels, we arrived in Lubec, a quaint fishing village and the easternmost point in the United States, surrounded by stunning coastal vistas. Every step of the journey offered a perfect blend of history, scenery, and small-town charm. APRIL 2024

Conquering Mt. Washington- New Hampshire

This weekend, we decided to embark on a high-altitude adventure and made our way up the tallest peak in the Northeast – Mt. Washington, standing proudly at 6,288 feet. Of course, we climbed it the modern way, by car! On a clear day, the summit offers breathtaking views spanning Maine, Vermont, Massachusetts, New York, and even Canada. Unfortunately, our timing didn’t grant us such a panoramic treat. Instead of sweeping vistas, we were greeted by a wintery surprise – snow! Despite the lack of clear skies, the experience of being atop this iconic peak was unforgettable, reminding us of the unpredictable beauty of nature. MAY 2024

During our visit to Cape Porpoise, a charming coastal village nestled within the town of Kennebunkport, we were captivated by its serene beauty and unique charm. The area is also renowned for its connection to the Bush family, with their iconic residence at Walker's Point providing a glimpse into local history. The drive along the coast was nothing short of breathtaking, offering stunning views at every turn. Stopping at Walker's Point was the perfect way to soak in the scenery and reflect on the tranquil beauty of this picturesque New England destination. Constructed in 1879, this iconic lighthouse, nestled on the rocky coast of York, Maine, holds the title of the most photographed lighthouse in America. The island it stands on was purchased for just $1,500, while the construction of the lighthouse itself cost approximately $11,000—an impressive feat for its time. Watching the sunset here is an unforgettable experience, with the breathtaking beauty of this historic landmark, often lovingly referred to as ‘Nubble,’ leaving visitors in awe. A trip to this picturesque site is truly a must for anyone seeking a blend of history, natural beauty, and coastal charm. 

USS Constitution: A Testament to Incredible Craftsmanship- Massachusetts

Incredible craftsmanship and preserved in pristine condition, the USS Constitution stands as a symbol of naval excellence and American resilience. Maintained by dedicated Navy officers and crews to this day, this historic vessel was built in Boston and holds the title of the oldest commissioned warship still afloat in the world. Affectionately nicknamed “Old Ironsides” during the War of 1812, she earned her legendary reputation by withstanding enemy fire while engaging the British in fierce naval battles. The USS Constitution remains an enduring symbol of American history and maritime strength, inviting visitors to marvel at her rich legacy and timeless design.  JANUARY 2024

Exploring Popham Fort on a perfect sunny day was nothing short of magical. Though the fort bears some signs of wear from recent storms, its charm and historic beauty remain undeniable. The scenic surroundings and calming ambiance made the visit all the more memorable. A highlight of the day was discovering a quaint little church perched above the bay, offering breathtaking views of the water. Adding to the allure was a majestic 250-year-old tree standing proudly in front of the church, a true testament to nature’s resilience and beauty. Rogue Bluffs State Park - after the storms

Trekking up Route 1 never disappoints! The winding roads, breathtaking views, and fresh air make every journey unforgettable. Today was a beautiful, chilly day – the kind that wakes you up and clears your mind. Despite the cold, the scenery was absolutely stunning as always. From Route 1, I made my way over to Route 9 for the return leg of the trip, completing a peaceful yet invigorating adventure. Along the way, the aftermath of recent storms was evident – significant damage that will take some time to fully recover from. Yet, even amidst nature's scars, the beauty of this iconic route shines through, reminding me why it’s one of my favorite places to explore.  FEBRUARY 2024

300 Miles in Search of a Moose: Our Journey to Jackman, Maine

A flying moose? Check. Birdhouses galore along the backroads? Check. Exploring the "Switzerland of Maine"? Check. Spotting a real, live moose? 🫎 Nope! Despite traveling over 300 miles on scenic, winding roads in search of one of Maine's most iconic animals, it seems the moose were all in hiding this time around—though we did spot plenty of graceful 🦌 deer along the way. The journey to Jackman, fondly referred to as the "Switzerland of Maine," was nothing short of breathtaking. Rugged landscapes, endless natural beauty, and tranquil backroads made the trip memorable, even without a moose sighting. Maybe next time, Jackman—but for now, we’ll cherish the serene sights and the unforgettable ride through Maine’s wilderness. MARCH 2024

Just a lil' fishing outpost with a population of about 2,000 people, this quaint coastal destination offers a perfect getaway for those seeking tranquility and natural beauty. The setting is idyllic, with charming art galleries and unique boutiques that invite exploration. Friendly locals add a warm touch to the experience, making visitors feel right at home. Surrounded by a collection of coastal islands waiting to be discovered, this destination is a haven for art lovers and nature enthusiasts alike. Being the adventurous travelers we are, we decided to take a bold step and cross the border! With excitement in the air, we made our way to the historic Roosevelt Campobello International Park, the cherished summer home of Franklin D. Roosevelt, located on Campobello Island, New Brunswick. Driving from one end of this scenic island to the other, we soaked in every moment. We stopped by the charming Wilson’s Beach for a quick breather and admired the stunning homes in Herring Cove, each with its own unique story and character. Standing proudly at about 80 feet tall, the easternmost lighthouse in the United States is a true marvel of both history and architecture. When lit, its light has an impressive range of 18 miles, guiding sailors safely through the waters. Perched on the rugged coastline, it offers breathtaking views of the ocean below, where waves crash dramatically against the rocky shore. Once vital for the logging industry, the river served as a pathway where logs were floated downstream to the mill in Millinocket. Taking a leisurely walk through time, surrounded by these timeless classics, truly lifted my spirits. The atmosphere was filled with nostalgia, as beautifully restored cars from different eras shone under the sun, each telling its own unique story. To my surprise, I had the delightful chance to run into my Aunt and Uncle amidst the crowd. The day became even more special when I witnessed my Uncle's stunningly restored Packard being awarded top honors. It was a thrilling moment, one that perfectly captured the passion and dedication that goes into preserving these treasures of the past. Our travels took us to the charming town of Houlton, where we crossed paths with the boy with the drippy boot—a moment that perfectly captured the quirky, small-town charm of this area. From there, we ventured to Mars Hill, proudly known as America’s sunrise champion town, where the first rays of morning light touch U.S. soil. Our days were spent embracing the vibrant beauty of the season, gawking at stunning fall foliage, and occasionally sneaking a peek across the border into Canada. Even as the rain fell, it couldn't dampen our adventurous spirits or stop us from reveling in the serenity and wonder this corner of Maine has to offer. Exploring Plymouth Rock and Beyond - Massachusetts

Today's escapade took us to the iconic Plymouth Rock – and spoiler alert: yes, it’s literally just a rock! 🪨 While it might not be the most thrilling sight at first glance, standing before this historic symbol of the Pilgrims' 1620 landing was still a meaningful moment. The real highlight, however, was visiting the Mayflower II, a remarkable replica of the original ship that carried the Pilgrims across the Atlantic. Walking its deck and imagining the journey was an incredible experience. After soaking up some history, we shifted gears and headed to Long Beach. It's one of my absolute favorite spots, with its golden sands and serene ocean views offering the perfect escape to unwind and reflect after a day of exploration.

Today’s adventure led us to the very tip of Cape Cod, where Provincetown awaits with its rich history and stunning coastal views. Driving along Route 6A, we passed through a series of quaint, picturesque towns, each with its own unique charm. The journey offered glimpses of luxurious homes perched along the ocean’s edge, showcasing breathtaking waterfront scenery. Along the way, we learned an intriguing piece of history: the Mayflower first anchored at Provincetown before continuing on to Plymouth. I recently hiked about 4 miles on the Ducktail Pond Trail, and it was an adventure worth sharing! This trail is definitely on the moderate side, with the first mile being a challenging uphill climb. However, the effort pays off once you reach the pond—it’s absolutely stunning and well worth the hike. One of the highlights for me was that it’s a dog-friendly trail, making it a perfect outing for both humans and their furry companions. Despite the cold, pouring rain during my hike, I still had an amazing time. If you're looking for a rewarding trail with some uphill effort and a scenic payoff, I highly recommend checking out Ducktail Pond Trail. You won’t regret it!

A Scenic Hike to Branch Lake

Today, we ventured out on the trail to Branch Lake, and it was absolutely delightful! This area offers several dog-friendly trails that range from easy to moderate difficulty, making it a great spot for hikers of all levels. The hike to the lake itself is about a mile and a half from the parking area, which is a manageable distance for an afternoon adventure. The weather was perfect—cool and refreshing—with the sun setting beautifully, casting a warm glow over the landscape. The experience was serene and picturesque, providing the perfect opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. We’ll definitely be back for another visit to soak in the peaceful atmosphere and natural beauty this trail has to offer!

The islands were wonderfully quiet, with hardly anyone around, making it even more enjoyable to uncover all the hidden nooks and crannies these gems had to offer. This serene escape was everything we hoped for, and we can't wait to return for another unforgettable experience!

What a wonderful day to hike along the river with the two most important people in my life, the ones I’m incredibly grateful for. We shared so many laughs, created cherished memories, and I even learned some fascinating stories about places along the river connected to my parents. Aren’t they just the cutest? Moments like these remind me how lucky I am to have them in my life.

I cannot even begin to express how many nights I spent on this river as a little girl, fishing to my heart’s content. My feet were always wet and muddy, but you couldn’t drag me away from the water. Those were some of the best moments of my childhood—just me, the river, and the thrill of the catch. While I didn’t fish exactly in this spot, I was way down the river from here, creating memories that have stayed with me all these years. Thank you for bringing me back to a place that stirs such fond nostalgia. Great fishing memories are truly priceless.

Spent a few days at my favorite oasis in New Hampshire, and it was nothing short of amazing! Nestled along the scenic Sugar River in Claremont, the peaceful surroundings and perfect weather made for an unforgettable getaway. Whether it was the calm riverside views, the fresh air, or just the chance to unwind and be spoiled for a little while 🥰, every moment felt like a treat. This charming corner of New Hampshire truly offers the perfect blend of natural beauty and relaxation, leaving me refreshed and already looking forward to my next visit!

A Perfect Day Hiking in Acadia National Park

It was a truly wonderful day exploring the beauty of Acadia National Park. We started our hike on Cadillac Mountain, enjoying the stunning views as we made our way down to Bubble Pond. The trail was a mix of serene moments and some challenging stretches, but the journey was rewarding in every sense. After reaching Bubble Pond, we decided to hike the full length of it, marveling at the tranquility of the water and the surrounding scenery. Once we finished, we headed back up to the top of Cadillac Mountain—a tough climb at times, but completely worth it. Chloe did great and took a nice swim in the cool waters. Breathing in the crisp, fresh air and soaking in the natural beauty made the effort worthwhile. By the end of the day, I felt not only accomplished but also deeply refreshed. That night, for the first time in what felt like ages, I slept almost all night through—proof that the adventure and fresh air worked wonders!
